Future Watch: Devon Travis Baseball Rookie Cards, Toronto Blue Jays – In major league baseball, we don’t generally look at second base for superstar talent. However, Devon Travis is one player who has the ability to break the mold in the future. At just 24 years old, and under 150 at-bats to his resume, he already has 7 homers, 27 RBI, 12 doubles and 27 runs scored, hitting at the bottom of the Toronto Blue Jays lineup!

He was originally drafted by the Detroit Tigers but was traded last November to Toronto for outfielder Anthony Gose. Before this season began, he was ranked the 6th best second base prospect in the game by MLB.com. Had he not missed a month of the season with a shoulder injury, he might have been a shoe-in to make the mid-summer classic. He still has a chance.

After making his debut on April 6th he was promptly named the Blue Jays’ player of the month for April. Not a bad start.

He can flash the leather:

And hit the long ball including this grand slam, the first of his career:

To baseball fans north of the border he could be the second coming of Roberto Alomar. To collectors, he could be a bargain.

Devon Travis’ first baseball cards were released in the following 2013 sets:

The following year, 2014, saw his inclusion in several Topps baseball card sets including, the always popular, collector favorite Bowman Draft Picks & Prospects. This set provides a great way to get one of his pre-rookie cards of this rising star. Since he was traded, the price hasn’t really gone up that much but has the potential skyrocket.

Having made his MLB debut in 2015, his officially designated rookie cards will be found in mid and late season releases. The first of which appeared in 2015 Topps Series 2 Baseball.

Even though Travis plays in a smaller market, keep an eye on him as he could be something special in the making.
