Future Watch: Dillon Dube Rookie Hockey Cards, Flames

Dillon Dube was drafted by the Calgary Flames with the 56th overall pick in the 2016 NHL Draft. This versatile forward always had great skill and it was just a matter of time until he put it all together.

He was a superstar in the WHL while playing for the Kelowna Rockets. He played four seasons there and amassed 232 points in 203 games. In the playoffs, he had 16 goals and 41 points in 58 games. He played in the 2015 Memorial Cup but didn’t win.

In international play he had a gold medal from the 2015-16 Hlinka Tournament, a silver medal from the WJC U20 in 2016-17 for Team Canada and a gold medal the following year in the U20 tournament once again, this time as a captain.

Here’s a look at his goal in the gold medal game:

He was a member of the 2015-16 CHL Top Prospects game with players like Sam Girard (Colorado), Brett Howden (Rangers), and Pierre-Luc Dubois (Columbus) to name a few.

In 2016-17 and 2017-18, he had a chance to join the Stockton Heat when his season ended. It gave him a taste of pro hockey.

2018-19 was set to be a memorable season. He made the Flames out of training camp with not a lot of roster spots up for grabs.

Collectors can soon find his 2018-19 Upper Deck Young Guns rookie card in 2018-19 Upper Deck Series 1 Hockey. Until that is released, he has cards in 2017-18 Upper Deck CHL and 2018 Upper Deck Canada Junior.

In his first eight NHL games, the 5-11 forward notched his first NHL assist while he continues to get his feet wet in the hardest professional hockey league in the world. Don’t sleep on this very talented 20-year-old prospect. You may regret it.
