Future Watch: Dryden Hunt Rookie Hockey Cards, PanthersFuture Watch: Dryden Hunt Rookie Hockey Cards, PanthersDryden Hunt was signed by the Florida Panthers as a free agent in 2016. After signing his entry-level contract, the former Moosejaw Warriors star had just come off a season where he scored 58 goals and had 116 points in 72 games.

At 6-2, 201 he has a lot of good tools in his toolbox. The Cranbrook, BC native turned pro in 2016. He spent the large majority of the 2016-17 season playing for the Springfield Thunderbirds of the AHL. There he had 13 goals and 31 points in 70 games. He also added two goals in two games for Manchester in the ECHL.

In 2017-18, he started the season playing for the Thunderbirds once again. In early November he was called up to make his NHL debut. He played in 11 games and recorded one assist in the process.

He went back to Springfield in December and proceeded to have a fantastic year. In 58 games he had 23 goals and 46 points in just 58 games. That’s the way you close out a season if you want to have a chance to make the Panthers in the Fall of 2018.

So far, his only rookie card is in 2017-18 Upper Deck Hockey Series 2. His Young Guns rookie is an undervalued card at the moment because a lot of fans don’t know about this 22-year-old.

Here’s a look at him scoring buckets of goals:

Being undrafted has been fueling this left winger. Nobody is suggesting he’ll score the same amount of goals he has been at the NHL level but the AHL season he had last year suggests he has a chance of playing a lot more games for Florida this season. If he gets that chance he may surprise more than a few people but not himself.
