Future Watch: Eno Benjamin Football Cards, Arizona Cardinals – Eno Benjamin was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals with the 222nd overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. As a runner and a pass-catcher, he’s a dual-threat.
Benjamin first starred at Wylie East High School in Wylie, Texas. During his time there he gained 7,546 yards and he scored an amazing 111 touchdowns. He was voted a USA Today High School All-American in 2016. After mulling over his options, he decided to attend Arizona State University.
The 5’9″, 207-lb running back had an exceptional NCAA career. He didn’t play a lot in his freshman season but in his sophomore year, he ran for 1,642 yards, establishing a new single-season school record originally held by Woody Green back in 1972. He was voted First Team Pac 12 All-Conference member and AP Third Team All-American selection.
In his junior season, Benjamin’s 10 rushing touchdowns ranked fourth in the Pac-12. His 12 TDs overall ranked him fifth in the league and 37th nationally. His forced 72 missed tackles ranked 10th nationally among running backs.
In his career at Arizona State, he combined for 3,620 all-purpose yards. He was the 20th running back to reach 2,000 rushing yards, which he accomplished during his junior season. He had 11-career 100-yard rushing games. He decided to forego his senior season to enter the NFL Draft.
At the NFL Combine, this prospect ran a 4.57 in the 40-yard dash and he sported a 39.0-inch vertical jump with 12 reps on the bench press. He ended up being the 15th running back taken in the Draft and many had him ranked better than that.
