Future Watch: Evan Engram Rookie Football Cards, Giants – Evan Engram was drafted by the New York Giants with the 23rd overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. We all know what happened to the Giants season but Engram’s was a great stepping stone to what could be a star-studded future.
This tight end attended Ole Miss and in his four years there he racked up 2,320 yards off 162 receptions. His 14.3 yards per catch average was solid and his 15 touchdowns opened some eyes.
He’s a very decorated player winning All First-Team SEC honors in 2014 and 2016, he got second team honors in 2015. He was a first-team All-American in 2016, won the Ozzie Newsome Award (best tight end) and was on the PFWA All-Rookie team in 2017 while playing for Big Blue.
Engram started the first game of the season and got a catch but as the season unraveled for Eli Manning’s team, he wasn’t being utilized the way the organization hoped when they drafted him.
In week 13 he had his best game with seven catches for 99 yards and a touchdown. On the season, he had 64 receptions for 722 yards and six touchdowns. He averaged 11.3 yards per catch. For a player with his speed and the ability to lineup on different spots on the field as a receiver they literally just scratched the service.
Here’s a look at his talent:
Some are saying he’s the next “Gronk”. I say he’s the first “Evan Engram”. He’s faster than Gronkowski and he has a chance to make a major impact with the Giants next season. He is an all-world talent and collectors should be in on him now before he sets the league on fire.
