Future Watch: Felix Jorge Rookie Baseball Cards, TwinsFuture Watch: Felix Jorge Rookie Baseball Cards, TwinsFelix Jorge signed by the Minnesota Twins in 2011 as an International free agent. This 6-2, 170 pound, slight of frame pitcher has been slowly working his way up the ranks in the Twins system.

Since 2011 he’s gone from the rookie league to Triple-A. He’s thrown 686 innings of minor league baseball starting from the time he was 17 until now at the age of 24.

Jorge did get a call up last July but it wasn’t great. They sent him back to Double-A to assure he’d get a lot of innings. He did throw 134 innings, striking out 99 and walking only 34. He was 10-3. That kind of dominance he showed while playing for the Chattanooga Lookouts will do him well as he heads to spring training next month!

Collectors can get his 2017 Bowman Chrome autographed rookie card.

According to his MLB.com draft profile (http://m.mlb.com/prospects/2017?list=min):

Still very much a slender right-hander, Jorge has added enough strength where there are no longer questions about his ability to start. He’s proven his durability by topping 300 innings over the last two years combined, doing it with a solid three-pitch mix. His fastball is playable, touching 95 mph with light sink that does get some ground-ball outs. His changeup is his best secondary pitch and his slider flashes average and he’ll even mix in an occasional curve to keep hitters honest. None of his offerings scare hitters, but he commands the ball, especially his fastball, extremely well, allowing his stuff to play up. ETA 2018.

Here’s Jorge getting a Gatorade bath:

Jorge does have a major-league win with two starts under his belt. He will come into camp stronger and ready to compete for a spot in the Twins starting rotation. This could be his year and it’ll be fun to watch it unfold.
