Future Watch: Hudson Potts Baseball Cards, Boston Red Sox – Hudson Potts was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the first round of the 2016 MLB Amateur Draft. The 6-3, 218-pound third baseman has the kind of power teams like to have at this corner position.

In 2016, Potts played in Rookie Ball and Short-A. He had 12 doubles, three triples, one homer, and 27 RBI while hitting .280 in 59 games played. One year later, his power emerged in A-Ball. He slugged 23 doubles, four triples, 20 home runs and had 69 RBI.

In 2018, Potts played for two teams and ended his year in AA; he hit 35 doubles, one triple, 19 homers, 63 RBI with 145 strikeouts. In 2019, Potts played for two teams again ending again in AA. He hit 24 doubles, one triple, 17 homers and 65 RBI.

Prior to the 2020 MLB trade deadline, Potts was dealt to the Boston Red Sox in a multi-player deal with the Padres getting Mitch Moreland as the big prize.

Here’s a look Potts’ power on display:

Potts first cards date back to 2016, with cards coming in a variety of sets such as 2016 Bowman Draft. Since then, he has been included in various products, most recently including 2019 Bowman Chrome and 2019 Elite Extra Edition.

Potts is 21, and the Red Sox may have found a bopper who can hit the ball out of Fenway Park. He’s been off the collector radar for quite some time, but could soon be getting big looks. Pick up his cards while they’re at their current levels!
