Future Watch: Hunter Bishop Rookie Baseball Cards, Giants – Hunter Bishop was drafted by the San Francisco Giants with the 10th overall pick in the 2019 MLB Amateur Draft. The city by the bay needs a new slugger in town and this 6-5, 210-pound prospect will be belting home runs that will splash down in McCovey Cove down the road.

  • 2017-19 – AZ State – Combined three years: 32-114 .304 BA
  • 2019 – Salem Keizer – 4-9, .229 BA 25 GP

According to his MLB.com Prospect Profile:

Bishop’s most impressive tool is his well above-average raw power, the product of bat speed, strength, leverage in his 6-foot-5 frame and loft in his left-handed swing. He started doing a better job of turning his power potential into production once he settled down his approach, worked better counts and began using the entire field. There’s still some swing and miss in his game but he has improved the frequency and quality of his contact.

A star wide receiver in high school who initially committed to play football at Washington as a preferred walk-on, Bishop has plus speed but still is learning how to make the most of it. He still needs to refine his reads as both a base stealer and a center fielder, though he’s new to the position after playing the corners in his first two college seasons. He makes accurate throws with an arm that earns fringy to solid grades. ETA 2022

Here’s a look at some of his skills:

Bishop took part in Spring Training for the Giants before the pause button was pushed. He only went 1-8 with a walk and a stolen base that probably surprised the opposing catcher. This was an experience that helped motivate the Palo Alto, California native in the midst of his first professional season. He got to play against his older brother, Braden, who is in the Seattle Mariners organization.

This center fielder has a ton of upside and Giants fans caught of glimpse of that even if he doesn’t play another inning this season. On a rebuilding team, he could be their big piece and he could be a big part of your collection.

Hunter Bishop already has a robust card catalog to his credit. His first cards were issued in 2019 baseball card products. Bishop has cards in 2019 Bowman products including Bowman Chrome, Bowman Draft and Bowman’s Best. Additionally, Bishop has cards in 2019 Leaf Metal Draft and Leaf Ultimate Draft, to name a few. He also has cards in 2019 Panini baseball products, as well, including Elite Extra Edition, Prizm Draft Picks and Contenders Draft Picks.
