Future Watch: Jalen Miller Rookie Baseball Cards, Giants – Jalen Miller was selected by the San Francisco Giants in the 3rd round of the 2015 MLB Amateur Draft. So far, this second baseman is playing for his third team in as many seasons since turning pro, so he’s climbing the ladder.

In just under 100 games in advanced A-ball, while playing for the San Jose Giants he has hit six home runs while driving in 39 RBI. His 22 doubles and four triples suggests that he can fill the columns, has some speed with four steals, and that’s a valuable player to have.

Miller was one of the youngest players in A-ball in 2016. There is a lot of debate where he falls in the Giants system. While having the ability to also play shortstop (he’s currently playing there) it is anybody’s best guess where he ends up. But most believe he will get to “The Show” and he will be a middle infielder.

At 20, his fielding is excellent so he just has to perfect his swing. As he continues to rise through the ranks he will figure it out. He’s managed to stay out of prolonged slumps and that’s a good sign.

Jalen Miller’s hottest card is Chrome Prospects Autograph from 2017 Bowman Baseball. He also has autographed cards in 2015 Panini Contenders Draft Picks and 2015 Panini Elite Extra Edition. However, his first autographed cards debuted in 2014 Leaf Perfect Game Showcase.

If Miller continues to win games with his bat and his speed he will get another promotion before the season’s end.

Here’s a good look at his professional, compact swing:

At 5′-11″, 190 pounds he might get a little stronger but he’s close to being filled out. What he still needs is professional experience. The Giants are making him earn his promotions and that’s a good thing. He’s not on the teams’ radar for next season but in 2-3 years he could be playing in San Francisco.
