Future Watch: Justin Kluivert Rookie Soccer Cards – AS Roma – If the name Justin Kluivert sounds familiar to you, it might be because he is the son of one of the world’s best footballers in the late 1990’s-early 2000’s, Patrick Kluivert. Justin is a 20-year-old winger making his own way in the footballing world at monster Italian side AS Roma.
The young Kluivert has made 18 appearances this season for the capital city side and has scored 4 goals and assisted on another. He has created 19 chances so far this season.
Kluivert came to Serie A from Dutch side Ajax. In the 2017-18 season, Kluivert put away 10 goals. The younger Kluivert is following in his father’s footsteps with the Netherlands national team as well. Justin made his international debut in March 2018 in a game against Portugal.
On the pitch, it is easy to admire Kluivert’s game. He has fantastic speed and also plays the game fast. I especially like his ability to shift and change directions at full speed, unbalancing defenders frequently. He is smooth in possession and with his first touch.
While not tall, he is physical and does not get taken off the ball easily. He can finish and pass the ball well.
I would not be surprised to see Kluivert make a move to another large club as his game continues to be sharpened. I would expect him to continue to see time for the Dutch national team as they try avoid the disaster of not qualifying for 2022 (as they did in 2018).
Kluivert has only a handful of trading cards on the market to date. However, that will change over time. Collectors can find his officially designated rookie card in 2019 Donruss Soccer. He also has cards in 2018 Futera World Unique.
