Future Watch: Kai Havertz Rookie Soccer Cards, Bayer Leverkusen – One of the top leagues in the world, the German Bundesliga, is also known for its clubs bringing in young talent and giving them an opportunity to shine. One such club, Bayer Leverkusen, is doing that with 20-year old, uber-talented Kai Havertz.
The midfielder joined Leverkusen all the way back in 2010 and has established himself as one of Europe’s top up-and-coming midfielders. He has delivered six goals and five assists so far this season and has an 89.4% passing success rate in open play. In the 2018-19 campaign, the young man racked up a total of 17 goals (SEVENTEEN!!!) and four assists. In a total of 110 league games, to date, he has tallied 30 goals.
While watching Havertz, I admire his smoothness of play. He doesn’t panic and is controlled and fluid is his movements with the ball. He has a magnificent eye for his teammates and the ability to deliver a perfect pass. Both feet are used with skill and he does not fluster in tight spaces or under pressure from defenders. When he receives a pass, he gets his head up quickly to get into the attack,
Havertz can score with either foot as well. He is fast and quick with the ball. He gives you the impression that he also thinks the game quicker than his opponents. He is a marvelous talent who will likely continue to improve for seasons to come.
No surprise that a talent like him has already seen time with the powerhouse German National side. Havertz has seven international caps and scored one goal. That goal came in a friendly versus Argentina in 2019.
Kai Havertz already has several soccer cards on the market. His officially designated rookies cards can be found in 2018-19 Donruss from Panini America. These cards depict him as part of the German National Team. Currently, Topps holds the license for Bundesliga. Havertz’s current autographed cards can be found in 2018-19 Topps Museum Collection Bundesliga.
