Future Watch: Kansas City Chiefs Football Cards, SB return key players – There is a lot of blame to dole out after watching Super Bowl 55.  The Chiefs had a lot of players underperform in this game. Collectors still have a great selection of talent to collect from this roster and that can’t be ignored.

Patrick Mahomes is still the guy. He was missing 3/5th of his normal offensive line, and he’s due for toe surgery, no excuses, just the facts. To say he’s not great, or he may never get back there, I would harshly disagree with that. Mahomes didn’t play his best, but there were a lot of dropped passes too. Keep collecting him. He still has a chance to be one of the all-time great quarterbacks when it’s all said and done.

Damien Williams was a solid running back who opted out this season for the Chiefs. Mahomes mentioned him on media day, just to say, hey, we’ve overcome this to get to the Super Bowl. Williams took 49% of the snaps since he’s been on the team and his 4.5 yards per carry rushing average from last season was missed.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire had a decent game in Super Bowl LV. He had a 7.1 yards per rush average but only got nine carries. Edwards-Helaire is not a back who should get 25 carries, but he needed a few more for sure and next year the sophomore will be poised to get over 1,000 yards and that’s going to propel his team once again.

Tyreek Hill is one of the fastest players in the NFL. His receiving skills are great, but in the Super Bowl, his seven catches for 73 yards were pedestrian. Simple speed is great, running better routes is something he can still learn to do. Hill had trouble getting open in the big game, and that’s something that can be improved upon.

Mecole Hardman is another speedy receiver and kick returner. Next year will be his third season, and he can build on the awful two catches for a four-yard performance in Super Bowl LV. Hardman talked about being a great route runner on media day, and now that should be his offseason mission statement.

The Chiefs are insanely talented, and there’s a good chance this could be the Super Bowl matchup next year as well.
