Future Watch: Kyle Isbel Rookie Baseball Cards, RoyalsKyle Isbel was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the third round of the 2018 MLB Amateur Draft. The 5-11 centerfielder hails from Fontana, California. He was spotted at UNLV where he starred.

In 2017, he had 231 at-bats, 67 hits, he hit .290 and led his team with 42 runs. He started 53 of 55 games and he had 22 multi-hit games. He had 26 RBI a .446 slugging percentage and a .349 on-base percentage. The Royals didn’t need to see anything else.

Isbel left college, got drafted and he started playing for the Idaho Chukars. In 25 games, he had four home runs and 18 RBI while batting .381 and swiping 12 bases. Once again, a stellar on-base percentage with a staggering .454 and a crazy .610 slugging percentage.

So, he went from Rookie Ball to Low-A to play for the Lexington Legends. In 39 games, he had three homers and 14 RBI with a .289 batting average. He added 12 doubles with 12 steals with a .345 on-base percentage to boot. It’s safe to say he had a great 2018.

According to his MLB.com Draft Profile:

Isbel has a compact left-handed swing and a patient approach that produces line drives to all fields. He can catch up to quality fastballs and translated his deceptive strength into more power as a junior, hitting 14 homers to double his total from his first two seasons. He also has plus speed and good instincts on the bases, completing a package that could fit atop a lineup. Isbel’s quickness and savvy allow him to cover ground in center field, where he displays average arm strength. ETA 2021.

Collectors can get his 2018 Bowman Draft autographed rookie card.

The future is very bright for this prospect on the field and in hobby circles.
