Future Watch: Kyler Murray Rookie Football Cards, Top 2019 Draft Pick – Kyler Murray may be the first overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. That’s not a lock and it’s not even a lock that he goes Top 3. This year it’s very volatile but the talent that he has isn’t up for debate.
Many have him as the top-ranked quarterback. He won the Heisman Trophy, a few weeks ago there was an awful lot of momentum for him to get drafted by the Arizona Cardinals first overall and now we sit and wait, the same way he and his family will.
At 5-11, 194 pounds, he eventually starred at Oklahoma University. He could have played baseball as an outfielder. He was drafted eighth overall by the Oakland A’s in the 2018 MLB Amateur Draft.
This Texas resident won the Gatorade Football Player of the Year award in 2014 while playing for Allen High School in Allen, Texas. He was a senior at the time. He won three state championships there and won 43-straight games. He did miss a game, so he had a 42-0 record in high school. Not bad.
In 2015 this phenom started his college career off at Texas A&M and did start games as a true freshman. He had a 59.5 percent completion percentage for 686 yards. He threw for five touchdowns against seven interceptions.
He then transferred to Oklahoma but had to wait a year to start playing there. In 2017, he wasn’t the guy and only played in seven games throwing three touchdowns.
