Future Watch: Logan Shaw Rookie Hockey Cards, PanthersFuture Watch: Logan Shaw Rookie Hockey Cards, Panthers – The Panthers organization has an eye for young talent. Logan Shaw was drafted 76th overall by the Florida Panthers in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. This 6′-3″, 203 pound right winger has a nice blend of toughness and scoring ability. That’s the reason he was able to work his way up through the ECHL, AHL and eventually the NHL.

In 2015-16, after scoring 7 goals and 8 points in 13 games, Shaw got a promotion. He is not a huge offensive player but he can skate well and he can handle opposing defenseman making room on the ice for his linemates. He has fought but he’s not an enforcer.

This year is a big one for Shaw and the Florida Panthers. They look like a playoff team and potential Stanley Cup contender. Shaw, who played 53 games last season, will try and stick for the entire season. In his rookie year he did manage 5 goals and 7 points. To keep his spot this year, he’ll need a few more tallies. He was sent down just before the playoffs but them he got called back up. Getting three games of playoff experience could help him this year as well.

Logan Shaw has a Young Guns rookie card in 2016-16 Upper Deck Series 2 Hockey. He also has NHL licensed rookie cards in this year’s SPX and SP Game Used products as well. At 23, he still has a lot of career left with more to prove.

Shaw who hails from Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Canada, had a day in his honor last season:

This small town guy made it to the big time. It’s a feel good story that’s continuing on. He’s the kind of player who helped give the Panthers an identity. A tougher player who wasn’t going to be pushed around by some of the other teams in the league.
