Future Watch: Los Angeles Angels Baseball Cards, trio to collect –The Los Angeles Angels have some terrific players on the team but not enough of them to compete. Their last playoff appearance was in 2014, so good drafting and development can help them get over this hurdle, and this trio is a good start on that path to future success.
Brandon Marsh was drafted in the second round of the 2016 MLB Amateur Draft. The 6-4, 215-pound outfielder has lefty power which is something all franchises search for. In 2017, he played for the Orem Owlz in the Pioneer League where he hit four home runs and drove in 44 in 39 games. His ten steals and a .350 batting average was a heck of a way for him to start his pro career.
In 2018, Marsh played for two teams with his year ending with the Inland Empire 66ers in A+ ball. His totals were 27 doubles, seven triples with ten home runs, and 70 RBI. In 2019, he ended his dual team season with the Mobile BayBears in AA. Marsh again filled the stats sheet with 21 doubles, two triples, seven home runs, and 45 RBI with a career-high of 19 steals. Marsh didn’t get to play in 2020 and is expected to start 2021 in AAA with the Salt Lake Bees.

Jordyn Adams was drafted 17th overall in 2018. This centerfielder has a lot of the tools the Angels need. Except, Mike Trout plays that position so he might be playing in left or right. In 2018, the Cary, North Carolina native played for two teams in Rookie Ball including the Orem Owlz. He hit six doubles, three triples and had 13 RBI in just 29 games.
In 2019, Adams played for three teams ending the year with Inland. The prospect hit 17 doubles with three triples, eight home runs, and 36 RBI with 16 steals.
Adams didn’t play in 2020. He was invited to spring training and managed to get 18 at-bats. This player has a big leg move at the plate that supplies a lot of power to his live bat. He’s hit some majestic home runs, and he has speed as well. Watch out when he puts it all together.
