Future Watch: Magneuris Sierra Rookie Baseball Cards, MarlinsFuture Watch: Magneuris Sierra Rookie Baseball Cards, Marlins Magneuris Sierra signed with the St. Louis Cardinals as an International free agent in 2012. He’s a talented outfielder who made his pro debut in 2013.

In 2014, he hit a cool .386 with two homers and 30 RBI with 12 doubles for the GCL Cardinals. He added three triples and 13 steals. It was a banner season.

In 2015, he played for two teams. While with the Johnson City Cardinals in he hit .315 with three homers and 19 RBI plus 15 steals before he moved on. He was moving up the prospect list quickly.

In 2016, he played for the Peoria Chiefs in A-ball and hit .307 with three homers and 60 RBI. His 31 steals and 29 doubles made him a very valuable commodity.

In 2017, he started the year with the Springfield Cardinals and ended up getting some time up with the big club. He hit .317 in 22 games.

That winter he was traded to the Miami Marlins.

He started out 2018 in Triple-A with the New Orleans Baby Cakes. He was hitting .260 with 12 doubles, five triples, two homers and 17 RBI before he got called up to the Marlins.

Here’s a look at this talented prospect:

According to his MLB.com draft profile:

With his knack for making consistent, hard contact and his well-above-average speed, Sierra has the raw ingredients to become a future top-of-the-order-type hitter, and he stands to solidify that profile even more with a more refined approach and improved on-base skills. Sierra will never offer over-the-fence power but has enough strength to hit the gaps, with his speed enabling to him to routinely take extra bases. He receives high marks for his baserunning, though his ability as a basestealer leaves something to be desired. Sierra is an elite-level defender in center field, the kind who regularly makes highlight-reel plays, and he has a plus arm to boot.

He has a 2017 Bowman Baseball Chrome Prospects Autographs card and that’s a good way to get him into your collection.

He went 0-4 in his Marlins debut. He could possibly finish the 2018 season with the big club or get a taste and be sent back. Either way, collectors know he’s a major leaguer and the 22-year-old will only get better.
