Future Watch: Mason Mount Rookie Soccer Cards, ChelseaFuture Watch: Mason Mount Rookie Soccer Cards, Chelsea – The move by Chelsea to hire Frank Lampard as their manager was interesting. Lampard is not afraid to put young talent to the test and help them develop. One such player who is benefiting from Lampard’s willingness to go with youth is Mason Mount.

The 20-year old midfielder began training at Chelsea nearly 15 years ago. In the last few seasons, he spent time out on loan with Vitesse in the Netherlands and with Derby County in the English Championship (where he was managed by Lampard) gaining valuable experience. Now he is getting his chance with the first team at Chelsea.

Mount attacks with speed and purpose. He has an uncanny ability to start and stop on a dime and leave defenders in his wake. He pressures the football very well and has good positional sense defensively and in the attack. He is willing to take on defenders but will make the smart play over the selfish play as well. He can score with either foot but has an eye for his teammates and passes with a fine touch.

Mount has four goals and one assist in 14 Premiership appearances for the Blues this season. His passing accuracy is at 83% and he has created 24 chances so far on the campaign. He has also made five Champions League appearances.

The young star on the rise made his debut for England this year in a substitute appearance versus Bulgaria on September 7th. In the Three Lions’ most recent game, a Euro 2020 qualifier versus Kosovo, Mount scored the final goal in a 4-0 victory. He currently has six caps for the national side.

Mount is a young player to watch at a massive football club in the biggest league in the world. I expect we will be hearing much more from him in the years to come.
