Future Watch: Michael Amadio Rookie Hockey Cards, LA Kings – Michael Amadio was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings with the 90th overall pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. He’s a talented pivot who’s been getting better at his own pace and now the Kings have a good player on their hands.
He spent four seasons with the North Bay Battalion of the OHL. Dressed in what looks like fatigues he gutted it out game after game. In 263 games he had 92 goals and 134 assists. In 53 playoff games he had a solid 22 goals and 42 points in total. He ended his career there as the captain. After that he joined the Ontario Reign, in the AHL, and went on an 11-game playoff run with them scoring five points.
In 2016, he played a full rookie season at the NHL level. During that season he had 41 points in 68 games; including 16 goals in the regular season and two in the playoffs. He showed great promise and was a solid start.
In 2017-18 he split time with the Kings and the Reign. He played in 37 games for the Kings and he tallied eight points. In 32 AHL games he tallied 35 points. He got into one playoff game with the Kings and he notched his first NHL playoff assist. When the Kings were eliminated he joined his other team and he had four points in four playoff games. That’s a successful season at two levels.
Here’s a look at his NHL caliber shot:
Michael Amadio has several NHL licensed rookie cards. His Young Guns rookie card can be found in 2017-18 Upper Deck Series 2 Hockey. He also has rookies in this year’s O-Pee-Chee Platinum, SP Authentic and Ice to name a few other products as well.
Still just 22, he has a great chance of sticking with the Kings next season. He’s paid his dues. The Kings are known to let their guys over-ripen in the minors, so they are truly ready when they need them full-time.
