Future Watch: Mitch Trubisky Rookie Football Cards, BearsFuture Watch: Mitch Trubisky Rookie Football Cards, Bears – Mitch Trubisky was selected 2nd overall by the Chicago Bears in the 2017 NFL Draft. When the Bears felt like they couldn’t land the potential franchise quarterback with the 3rd overall selection they found a trade partner in the San Francisco 49ers who held that second overall pick. Trubisky was the first quarterback selected by the Chicago Bears in the first round since Rex Grossman in 2003 (22nd overall).

Now that NFL training camps are in full swing, Trubisky is starting to move up the ladder. He might not currently be the number one quarterback but he’s starting to make some headway in potentially battling Mark Sanchez for the backup spot this season.

Most likely Trubisky will sit out the 2017 season and learn from Mike Glennon and Sanchez.

Trubisky was a star at North Carolina. At 6′-2″, 222 pounds he has the arm strength and the body to be able to handle the rigors of the position. He’s a cool customer in the pocket and has some zip on the ball.

With the Bears, he’s wearing #10. Quite a few quarterbacks have worn this number in Chicago including, Bobby Douglass and Todd Collins. He has a chance to be the best #10 in history of the franchise.

The Ohio native has some pressure on him this season. The team has lessened it a lot in hopes he eases in at his own pace. It’s a smart way to bring him along and Bears fans hope he will be “the guy” for at least the next decade.
