Future Watch: Nikolay Goldobin Hockey Rookie Cards, Sharks – Nikolay Goldobin was selected by the San Jose Sharks with the 27th overall pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. At the age of 20 he already had his 9-game cup of coffee at the NHL earlier this season and since then he’s been potting his fair amount of goals and adding helpers.
The Russian winger is known for his high hockey I.Q. He’s always ready to make a play, he’s unselfish and he has tremendous acceleration, an extra game gear. The Sharks have a potential star in the making and next year could be the year he breaks through.
Whether its international play with Team Russia or his new team the San Jose Barracuda (last year the Sharks’ AHL team was in Worcester, MA), he always becomes that player that teams game plan against. He’s shifty and very dangerous with and without the puck.

He’s already played in Liiga, NHL, AHL, OHL and the MHL (Russian junior hockey). Not many, if any other players, have ever taken that path to play in the NHL. He decided to stay in North America to reach the ultimate goal, to play in the Stanley Cup. Nobody knows how long that’ll take and what team he’ll be with. But there’s one thing you can bank on. He will help transform whatever team he’s on into a winner. He has magic in his stick.
