Future Watch: Noah Juulsen Rookie Hockey Cards, Canadiens

Noah Juulsen was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens with the 26th overall pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. At 6-2, 188 pounds he’s a defenseman that can help the Montreal Canadiens this season.

This Canadian prospect starred for the Everett Silvertips in the WHL. In his first season there in 2014-15, he had 52 points in 68 games with nine goals. That got him noticed heading into the NHL Draft.

In 2015-16, his offense went away, and he had just 28 points in 63 games with seven goals. Both years he played in the playoffs giving him more experience. A concussion at the beginning of that season affected him.

In 2016-17, he bounced back and had 34 points in 49 games with 12 goals. He had just two points in 10 playoff games. During that season he played for Team Canada in the U20 World Junior Championships. There he had two points in seven games and he picked up a silver medal for his trophy case.

In September of 2017, after turning pro, he sustained a fractured foot and missed a lot of the season. He did manage to get in 23 games for the Canadiens and 31 for the Laval Rocket in the AHL. He didn’t light the world on fire, but he gained even more experience heading into next season.

Collectors can get rookie cards of him in 2018-19 Upper Deck MVP and O-Pee-Chee to start. He also has a pre-NHL card in 2016-17 Leaf Metal and 2017 Upper Deck AHL.

Juulsen is a lock to make the Canadiens opening night roster. At 21, he still has plenty of time to turn himself into a good, offensive defenseman. He has a knack for scoring goals and the Habs would love to see that this season and in the future.
