Future Watch: Randy Arozarena Baseball Cards, Tampa Bay Rays – Randy Arozarena was signed by the St. Louis Cardinals as an international free agent in 2016

In 2017, the Cuba born-and-bred outfielder played for the Palm Beach Cardinals in A+ ball and the Springfield Cardinals in AA. His combined numbers were 11 homers and 49 RBI with 18 stolen bases and was named a Florida State League All-Star. The following season saw Arozarena start with Springfield and finish with the Memphis Redbirds in AAA. His combined numbers there were 21 doubles, 12 home runs, and 49 RBI with 26 steals.

Arozarena played for the same two teams in 2019 and had consistent combined numbers with 18 doubles, two triples, 12 homers, 38 RBI, nine steals, and a .358 batting average. The strong showing resulted in him being called up to the big leagues on August 12th and by the 14th Arozarena made his major league debut. He ended up hitting .300 over a 19-game span and came off the bench in the postseason.

In January of 2020, Arozarena was traded to the Tampa Bay Rays alongside Jose Martinez. Though Arozarena had a strong spring training, he didn’t make his new club’s opening day roster. Ultimately, he was a victim of the numbers game. A spot finally opened up for him, however and he started to play for the Rays on August 30th. By September 8th Arozarena had slugged four home runs.

Collectors can find Arozarena’s rookie card in several 2020 baseball sets, including Topps Chrome, Inception, Diamond Kings and others.

2020 rolled on for Arozarena as the Tampa Bay Rays are a strong team that could go far in the playoffs. He is getting regular at-bats too, so collectors who may have been on the fence should get into the pool.
