Future Watch: Rashaad Penny Rookie Football Cards, Seahawks
Rashaad Penny was selected by the Seattle Seahawks with the 27th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. The Seahawks imagined they would need future help at the position, so this was a perfect pick for them.
The talented running back attended San Diego State. In his freshman season, he only got two carries but averaged 11 yards each on them. That was a foreshadowing of what he could be the following season.
In 2015, he had 61 carries for 368 yards. That’s a 6.0 yards per carry average. He had a long of 55 and four touchdowns. He also caught eight passes for 120 yards and another touchdown.
2016 was his breakout year. He played in all 14 games, as he did the year before, but this time he got the rock 135 times for 1,005 yards. That’s an amazing 7.4 yards per carry. He also added 11 touchdowns. Through the air, he had 15 receptions for 224 yards and another three scores. His total yardage was now going to be his most important statistic going forward.
In 2017, he had 289 carries for an eye-popping 2,248 yards and 23 touchdowns. He had a long of 95 yards and he missed a game. Through the air, he added 19 receptions for 135 yards and two more touchdowns. He was ready to go pro.
The 5-11, 220-pound athlete ran a 4.45, 40-yard dash and did 13 reps at the bench press station. The Seahawks saw enough and jumped at the chance to draft him.

This season has been getting better for him week to week. In his last game against the Oakland Raiders, he had nine carries for 43 yards, good for a 4.8 yards per carry average and he added 27 yards in the air with a long of 24. He did incur a slight finger injury so keep an eye out on him the rest of the season and collect him while you can.
