Future Watch: Robert Thomas Rookie Hockey Cards, BluesFuture Watch: Robert Thomas Rookie Hockey Cards, BluesRobert Thomas was drafted by the St. Louis Blues with the 20th overall pick in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. This talented Canadian center has had a fast rise to the NHL but when you see his background it will all make sense.

In 2015-16 Thomas started playing with the London Knights. He had 15 points in 40 regular season games and five points in 15 playoff games. Winning a Memorial Cup championship jump-started his junior hockey career.

In 2016-17 he scored 16 goals and had 66 points in 66 games. Some crazy interesting numbers. He got better in the postseason too. He had 12 points in 14 games.

In 2017-18 for London, he wore the “A”. He had an amazing 20 goals and 46 points in 27 games. Then he was traded to the Hamilton Bulldogs. There he had 29 points in 22 games and 32 in 21 playoff games. His team won an OHL Championship but didn’t win a Memorial Cup.

That same year he played for Team Canada in the U20 World Junior Championship. In seven games he had six points. He won a gold medal and that made him a candidate to try and make the Blues team out of training camp.

Collectors can find rookie cards of him in 2018-19 Series 1 hockey. He has other rookies in Parkhurst and Black Diamond to name a few. A pre-rookie exists in 2018-19 Upper Deck Canada juniors.

Here’s a look at his first NHL goal and his great shot:

Thomas made the Blues out of camp. In his first 36 games, he scored four goals and had nine assists. He is still working his way up with the Blues. The team expects him to be a top-six player in short order. Right now, he’s only 19, by the time he’s 20 collectors will have already missed out on a budding star.
