Future Watch: Ryan Pulock Hockey Rookie Cards, Islanders – Ryan Pulock was drafted 15th overall by the New York Islanders in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. The 6′-2″, 215lb defenseman has the kind of shot that scouts and fans drool about. It can hit 105 miles per hour and its pretty accurate. He can shoot that at the point and from other areas on the ice.
The big Canadian has a chance to be a big-time offensive defenseman. During his four years with the Brandon Wheat Kings he had 69 goals and a lot more points. In 2014-15 he played for the Islanders’ AHL affiliate, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. He had 17 goals that season and 29 points. Last year he had 7 goals and 24 points in 51 games. He was dinged up last year, so the hope is that coming into this season the 21-year-old will finally reach his peek. So far he has 4 points in his first 15 regular season NHL games. He also had 3 points in 6 playoff games.
Pulock’s skating has improved a lot and his toughness is an added bonus. You can just look at this player and see he has star potential.
So far the talented Islanders prospect has NHL licensed rookie cards in 2016-17 Upper Deck MVP and 2016-17 O-Pee-Chee. A lot of fans were thrilled to see him getting into the series against the Florida Panthers last season. He deserved the promotion. He was filling a key spot on the roster and he crept into the power play as well.
