Future Watch: T.J. Hockenson Rookie Football Cards, LionsFuture Watch: TJ Hockenson Rookie Football Cards, LionsT.J. Hockenson was drafted eighth overall by the Detroit Lions in the 2019 NFL Draft. This 6-5, 250-pound tight end attended the University of Iowa.

As a true freshman in 2016, he was redshirted. As much talent as he had the big Universities do this so a player can learn.

In 2017, he was playing along with another tight end. The next week he got his first two receptions for Iowa gaining 41 yards in the process. In a game against third-ranked Ohio State University, he led his team to an upset victory with five catches for 71 yards and two touchdowns. He ended up fifth on the team in receiving that season with 24 receptions for 320 yards and three touchdowns.

Early in the season, Hockenson was under a microscope. Scouts were expecting big things. He had a game where he had 125 yards receiving with a long of 46 yards. He had another game against Indiana where he had 107 yards and two touchdowns. He finished out the year with 46 catches for 717 yards and six touchdowns. After the 2018 season, he won the John Mackey Award and the Ozzie Newsome Award. He was voted to the All-Big Ten first-team and Tight End of the Year. Everyone thought he was the best tight end and was ready to enter the NFL Draft.

Collectors can find his rookie cards in 2019 Panini Prizm Draft Picks, Contenders Draft Picks, Legacy and Score.

Here’s a look at what he can do:

This prospect will be a big target for Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford. He has great hands. Is he the next Gronk? Some have him ranked the ninth-best tight end in the league before he ever plays a down. Don’t miss out on his cards. He could be the best at his position someday soon.
