Future Watch: Tobias Bjornfot Rookie Hockey Cards, KingsFuture Watch: Tobias Bjornfot Rookie Hockey Cards, Kings Tobias Bjornfot was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings with the 22nd overall pick in the 2019 NHL Draft. If there was a steal in the first round of the draft? This prospect could be the guy.

At 6-0, 203, he has a pro body. He had been working his way through the Swedish Hockey junior system. He got a lot of experience and picked up a few gold medals.

In the 2017-18 U18s, he didn’t score a point, but he did walk away with a bronze medal. That season with Djugardens in the SuperElit league, the blueliner scored 22 points in 42 games. That was a springboard for him.

In 2018, he had 22 points but 11 goals this time for Djugardens. He did get in seven games in the SHL as well. He won a gold in the U18s as a steady defenseman for them and he won a silver in the Hlinka Memorial. That was a big year for him, and the Kings took notice.

His rookie card can be found in 2019-20 Upper Deck Series 1 Hockey. His card may be the best value in the bunch, but the collector will need to show patience. This is his only rookie card to date.

The talented Swede made the Kings team out of training camp. It was unexpected especially since the Kings tend to over marinate their rookies. Drew Doughty, one of the best defensemen in the NHL, boasted about his play. After three scoreless games, they sent him to the AHL to play with the Ontario Reign.

In his first 14 AHL games, he had two goals and seven points. He was a +5 and things couldn’t be going much better for him. There’s a great chance that he can earn a permanent spot with the team next year at the age of 19.
