Future Watch: Top Five NFL Prospects of 2020 – As we race towards 2021, I thought it would be fun to look back at some of the athletes that were profiled this year and pick five standouts. These are my top five NFL rookies (not in any particular order). It’s always fun and rewarding to write about young players and then see them start on a path towards reaching their potential.
Justin Jefferson – This Minnesota Vikings wide receiver has been as good as advertised. He’s started 13 out of 15 games and his long catch-and-run so far is 71 yards. He’s reached 1,267 yards, 4th in the NFL, and there’s no telling how many he will end up with. Anquan Boldin’s record for most yards by a rookie receiver (1,377) is in jeopardy. Can you say Offensive Rookie of the Year?

Antonio Gibson – Better football is on the horizon in Washington and running back Antonio Gibson is leading the way. 243 yards and four of his 11 touchdowns came against division rivals, the Dallas Cowboys. Seven of his 11 touchdowns were scored in the second half, helping Washington finish strong each week. The rookie is tied for fourth in the NFL with those 11 rushing touchdowns.

KJ Hamler – This Denver Broncos wide receiver has scored all three of his touchdowns this season after he was profiled. Hamler is fast with super-quick feet. He has the ability to stretch the field and next year will be big for him. A late-season concussion could end his rookie campaign prematurely, but he’s already put a charge into the fanbase.

Patrick Queen – This Baltimore Ravens future star has 100 tackles this season. Queen is special and he has a chance to play in important games down the stretch in hopes of getting some very valuable NFL playoff experience. He has speed and confidence to run down some of the best in the NFL.

Chase Young – He’s 6-5, 265, he’s fast, strong and smart. Washington named him a team captain, quite the honor for a 21 year old. If you watch his games, you can see he’s a leader on the field. His big play of the year was scooping up a fumble and going 47 yards for the touchdown. Some players dream about that for an entire career and it happened to Young in his rookie season.
A lot of talented rookies have entered the NFL this year. How many of them do you have in your collection? Hopefully a few.
