Future Watch: Top NFL Rookie Performances – Week Seven, 2015 – Here is a look at some of the top NFL rookie performances, by position, from week six of the 2015 NFL season. Todd Gurley and Amari Cooper continue to show that they are front-runners for the NFL Rookie if the Year award.

Quarterback

Jameis Winston (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) – 1st Overall Pick – Florida State: Threw 21-for-29 with 297 yards and a touchdown, good for a QB Rating of 128.1 in the Bucs devastating one-point loss to the Washington Redskins 30-31.

Running Back

Todd Gurley (St. Louis Rams) – 1st Round, 10th Overall Pick – Georgia:  Rushed for 19 carries for 128 yards (6.7 avg.) and two touchdowns in the Rams’ 24-6 win against the Cleveland Browns. 

T.J. Yeldon (Jacksonville Jaguars) – 2nd Round, 36th Overall Pick – Alabama: Had 20 carries for 115 yards (5.8 avg.) and a touchdown in the Jaguars’ 34-31 win over the Buffalo Bills.

Wide Receiver

Amari Cooper (Oakland Raiders) – 1st Round, 4th Overall Pick – Alabama: Caught five passes for 133 yards (26.6 avg.) and a touchdown in the Raiders’ 37-29 win against the San Diego Chargers.

Special Teams

Andrew Franks, Kicker (Miami Dolphins) – Undrafted Free Agent – Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute: Went 1-for-1 in field goals and 5-for-6 in extra point attempts, scoring a total of 8 points in the Miami Dolphins’ 44-26 win over the Houston Texans.

Defense

Eric Kendricks, Inside Linebacker (Minnesota Vikings) – 2nd Round, 45th Overall – UCLA: Recorded six tackles, two sacks and three tackles for a loss in the Vikings’ 28-19 win against the Detroit Lions.

Stephone Anthony, Middle Linebacker (New Orleans Saints) – 1st Round, 31st Overall – Clemson: Recorded seven tackles, an interception and a pass defensed in the Saints’ 27-21 win against the Indianapolis Colts.
