Future Watch: Vita Vea Rookie Football Cards, BuccaneersFuture Watch: Vita Vea Rookie Football Cards, BuccaneersVita Vea was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with the 12th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. At 6-4, 347 pounds he has run stopper written all over him and that’s something that’s so important when you’re building a quality football team.

Vea redshirted in his freshman season, something that happens at big programs. In 2015, he played in all 13 games and had 17 tackles, 13 were solo, three were for a loss. He added a sack as well. He was off and running.

In 2016, he had 22 solo tackles, 39 in total and had 6.5 for a loss. He played in 14 games and had five sacks. He made four tackles and one sack in a bowl game against Alabama.

In 2017, he started in all 13 games. He had 30 solo tackles and 43 in total. He had 3.5 sacks and he drove the opposition to 5.5 for a loss. In 2017 he was voted to the second team All-America, All-Pac 12 first team, Morris Trophy winner and seven more notable accolades including Academic Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year!

You can find rookie cards of him in 2018 Panini Prizm, Spectra, Score, Donruss, and Obsidian.

Watch how he gets to the quarterback in this play:

Some players transcend a position and when they do that, they can be popular in the hobby. Vea will be one of those players. In 13 games with the Bucs he had three sacks and 21 solo tackles. He added four quarterback hits and four tackles for a loss. Not bad for a rookie. By next year most fans will know his name. Collectors can now be a step ahead of them. He may not have been #1 on your want list but he should be on there now.
