Future Watch: Zach Fucale Rookie Hockey Cards, CanadiensFuture Watch: Zach Fucale Rookie Hockey Cards, Canadiens – Zach Fucale is a very talented goaltender who was drafted in the second round back in 2013. When you’re from Laval, Quebec there’s nothing better than being in the Montreal Canadiens system.

At 6′-2″, he has the right height, he has a fast glove and all the quick movements you need to be a successful butterfly goaltender at the next level. The only problem he has is the Habs incumbent netminder, Carey Price, who is very much entrenched in the starting spot.

In 2013-14 he won the Jacques Plante award for being the top goalie in the QMJHL. The next year he represented Team Canada and the result was a gold medal and more accolades for posting the best goals against average and having the best save percentage in the tournament. He’s played in the Memorial Cup and he’s never fazed by playing on the biggest stage.

Last year he played 42 games for the St. John’s Ice Caps posting a solid .903 save percentage in his first season as a pro. Price took a similar path and ended up winning the Calder Cup. Fucale could end up doing the same thing and nobody would be surprised.

Last year he ended up suiting up for the Canadiens but didn’t get into the game. As we all know that’s enough for a backstop to get a card and collectors were very happy.

Fucale has a Young Guns rookie card in 2015-16 Upper Deck Series 2 Hockey. He also has NHL licensed rookie cards in Fleer Showcase and SPX to name a few.
