GTS Employee Road Trips Support Topps National Baseball Card Day – The official hashtag for this year’s Topps National Baseball Card Day was #ToppsBaseballCardDay. At one point during the day, this past Saturday, August 11th, it was a trending topic on Twitter with well over 700 Tweets. Clicking on the link above will take you to all of them. Many include pictures from store owners and collectors alike enjoying the special day.

Over 650 stores throughout Canada and the United States participated in what has now become an annual event. This promotion was brought back by Topps in 2016, and has grown to include more stores every year. In addition to the free packs handed out at hobby shops, each MLB team had a designated game for an in-stadium promotion. Attendees received packs of cards containing that team’s players as well as a promo card advertising the official in-store promotion.

To say that the program was a resounding success would be an understatement. Many stores quickly went through their allotments. The fun continues in two weeks as collectors returning to their local card shop on August 25th, can pick up the final card in the set, which happens to be Rhys Hoskins.

Several GTS employees hit the road to visit participating stores to show the company’s support to Topps for sponsoring such a great promotion and the stores themselves for helping to promote and grow the hobby.
