1988 Upper Deck Baseball Cards? – Yep, a promotional set featuring Angels pitcher, Dewayne Brice and Wally Joyner were made to help market the inaugural 1989 set. Darren Rovell posted on his Twitter feed this week, “Crazy story here. Upper Deck needed two players for sample cards in 1988. Offered cash or stock. Wally Joyner took cash, which amounted to $10K, Angels reliever Dewayne Brice took stock — turned into about $17 million!”
