I don’t often do non-sport products, but I decided to crack a box of Upper Deck’s Thor: Love and Thunder. Based on the Marvel movie it’s named after, the product features cards centered around the moments and characters from it. Ink is a big draw in the product as Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman are among the autograph possibilities.
This was a pretty fun box to rip. My hat’s off to Upper Deck on this as the color schemes and generous number of shiny cards honestly felt inspired and in line with the vibe of the movie itself. I genuinely had fun seeing what came out of every pack and checking out the different inserts. The one thing I would say is to be very careful and check out the backs of each card to properly ascertain what your parallel is. Some of them look very similar, so it can be easy to mistake one for the other.
While I didn’t get a Hemsworth or Portman autograph, I did come away with one of Pom Klementieff, who plays Mantis in the MCU. It was a sticker signature on a Classic Thor Adventure manufactured film cel card. It wasn’t numbered, but I honestly didn’t mind as this was a plain cool card. I also came away with a pair of numbered parallels in my box and another non-autographed cel card featuring Dave Bautista as Drax.
If you’re a fan of the film/characters, this is a box I would recommend. It can currently be had for around the $60 mark online, so it won’t hurt the budget too much. It’s definitely one I’d revisit to try and finish off more of the set or hunt for another good autograph.
