KS: Ty, here at the 2024 National Sports Collectors Convention. Wild Card has had a wildly successful week. With that being said, what do you have on tap for the rest of 2024?
TA: Hey guys, welcome from the National here. This is Wild Card. We’re at booth 5034. We got some exciting things coming out for the rest of this year, especially our Decades program right here. So, this is going to be a pop culture set. We’re going to feature packs from the 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 21st century. We’re going to have packs that throw you way back in time. We have an Abraham Lincoln cut signature. We have a Freddie Mercury cut signature. We’re going to be giving away great prizes in that whole hobby release. We have Taylor Swift signed guitars that you can win in our set. So, we are going to be giving away some crazy, crazy things. We’re going to be getting autos of celebrities who have never done trading cards before.
So, be on the lookout for that release. It’s going to drop around Black Friday, but that is going to be one of our biggest releases for the end of this year, and I’m excited to share that with all of you guys.
TA: Yeah, so doing pop culture and doing football and baseball, we want to diversify and just have access to everything. And we feel like with our design work and what we put out; we can really give the hobby something very special in the pop culture era.
KS: Overall, though, from last year to this year, what has changed the most for Wild Card?
TA: Oh, I honestly would say that just our production abilities and getting product out to you guys quicker and getting it on time to you has been a big achievement of ours. Pushing our designs to the limit, really trying to push what you can do on a three and a half by two and a half size card. We are trying to do next level stuff, doing things that never been before seen, and we are deep in R&D, trying to make really, really cool and interesting stuff. And of course, acquiring talent that’s never been seen again on trading cards and really having a good time with it. So, we’re going to bring a lot to the hobby. You guys are gonna be excited about.
KS: So, besides Decades, what else do you have in the pipeline?
TA: Okay, so, coming out here shortly, everything is getting prepared to ship. We have our 2023 American Metallics project. We’re having a debut here at the National. We have Five Card Draw 2024 football. We have Seven Card Studs, which is going to be an updated version. It’s not going to be like the one you saw last year. This is going to be a little different. So be on the lookout for that one. We are going to continue with again, Decades coming out as well as a few more, football releases. And we’re going to do a multi-sport towards the end of the year.
KS: So, let’s say we’re meeting at next year’s National. Between now and then, what do you think is going to be the biggest change coming up for Wild Card?
TA: The Decades is going to be one of our biggest steps forward into the hobby with everybody joining in on that one. It’s going to be great. Decades.
