Hockey Collectors Key In on 2015 NHL Entry Draft – The future stars of the NHL met their new teams this weekend with the conclusion of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. There was no drama with the first two picks with the Edmonton Oilers selecting “The Next One”, Connor McDavid, and the Buffalo Sabres selecting, Boston University standout, Jack Eichel.
The United States was well represented in the first round with several NCAA and USHL players being selected. International skaters from Sweden and Russia also featured prominently in the first round.
The Boston Bruins owned the middle of the draft with the trades of Dougie Hamilton and Milan Lucic as the team seeks to rebuild and add cap space.
Several of the top picks are considered to be NHL ready. Others will need some seasoning with their respective pro team’s AHL and OHL affiliates.
A complete listing of draft selections from all seven rounds can be seen on the NHL.com website.
