Hot in the Shop – New Product Talk Releasing the Week of 5/4/2015 – It was a HUGE weekend for sports. Between the running of the Kentucky Derby, the NFL Draft, NBA and NHL Playoffs and the underwhelming Pacquiao vs. Mayweather fight, there was no shortage of activity.
The NFL Draft concluded this weekend with few surprises. Top picks Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariotta landed with their projected teams. Many teams sought to bolster their offensive line and defensive secondary. Running backs, Todd Gurley and Melvin Gordon landed in the Top 15 as did wide receivers Amari Cooper, Kevin White and DeVante Parker.
The NBA Playoffs continued with a thrilling Game 7 win by the L.A. Clippers over the San Antonio Spurs. A changing of the guard appears to be taking shape in the Western Conference. The highly anticipated second round match-up between the Chicago Bulls and the Cleveland Cavaliers gets underway tonight. Cleveland starts with a depleted roster, losing Kevin Love to injury and JR Smith to a two game suspension.
The road to the Stanley Cup is starting to take shape with both the Anaheim Ducks and the Tampa Bay Lightning starting to look like serious contenders.
