Hot in the Shop – Week of February 29th, 2016 – Baseball! – Hollywood’s premier award show, the Oscars, took place last night. The annual gala is a celebration and recognition of outstanding achievement in film. The spectacle also serves as a primer for the entertainment aspect of the hobby.
Very few of last night’s major award nominees and winners have certified autographs. Hopefully that will change in the coming years. Congratulations to Leonardo DiCaprio who finally captured his elusive Oscar for Best Actor for his role in The Revenant.
MLB’s spring training is in full swing and the NBA and NHL in the final stretch of their regular seasons. This time of year can help serve as a catch-up time for collectors finishing sets, planning for the NFL Draft and prospecting in baseball.
