Industry Summit News: Panini Presentation Notes – The CEO of Panini America, Mark Warsop lead the beginning of the company’s Industry Summit presentation followed by Vice President of Marketing Jason Howarth and Director of Sales Kevin Haake and Director of Product Development, Jim Stephano and D.J. Kazmierczak, Vice President of Sales.
The presentation focused on growth sectors and highlighted efforts that the company is making to reach new collectors, including children. Children were a particular focus of the company’s advertising budget with network TV ads on Disney and Nickelodeon.
A new brick-and-mortar program to showcase hobby shops, was also detailed, which will include Hobby Shop of the Month, Quarter and Year Awards, with numerous perks and benefits for the winners. Increased communication with distributors and dealers were also highlighted as a key to growth for all segments of the hobby moving forward.

FIFA Flawless will be the highest-end soccer trading card product ever produced and will include on-card autographs.
UEFA Prizm Soccer is another new planned release.
The company has a limited agreement with NASCAR to produce trading cards.
Expect to see a new emphasis on entertainment properties including a new game that will debut this summer at San Diego Comic Con.
Basketball segment of the market grew by 24%, year-over-year in 2015.
600 shops and 160,000 individual collector’s participated in the 2015 Panini NFL Player of the Day Promotion.
Live autograph rates are up across all products year-over-year.

- Football – 95% up from 94%
- Baseball – 97% up from 87%
Donruss Optic– A new brand across all three sports – football, basketball and baseball.
2016 NASCAR products will include four releases: Prizm, Torque, Certified and National Treasures.
