MLB Future Watch: Blaze Jordan Baseball Cards, Boston Red Sox – Blaze Jordan was drafted by the Boston Red Sox with the 89th overall pick in the 2020 MLB Amateur Draft. He went to DeSoto Central High School in Southaven, Mississippi. He was already 6’2”, 218 pounds at the time.

As a 13-year-old, he hit two 500-foot home runs. They are still on YouTube. So, the hype was real, and it built up until the MLB Draft. Getting selected in the third round is a real achievement.

Jordan didn’t get to report to the Red Sox alternate training site. A year earlier, he won the High School Home Run Derby at the 2019 MLB All-Star Game in Cleveland. It was a lost year of development, so he might be a bit behind in his path to the big leagues.

In 2021, he started the season in Rookie-Ball and A-Ball with the Salem Red Sox. Jordan hit 8 doubles, 1 triple, 6 home runs with 26 RBI, and 1 steal with a solid .324 batting average. This was the start the Red Sox were hoping for.

In 2022, Jordan jumped from A ball to A+ ball with Greenville Drive. Jordan hit 30 doubles, 3 triples, 12 home runs, and 68 RBI with 1 steal, a .289 batting average, and a .363 on-base percentage.

In 2023, Jordan was back in Greenville. He hit 9 doubles, 1 triple, 5 home runs, and 26 RBI with a .292 batting average in his first 33 games. His .360 on-base percentage and .476 slugging percentage were very good.

Jordan has a lot of power, and he’s working with a lot of raw ability, but he must work on his defense at third base and become an all-around better hitter. At 20, as he’s going up the ladder, the power numbers should increase. Jordan is a fun player to keep and eye on and collect.

Jordan has some great cards. One of them is the 2021 Bowman Chrome 1st Atomic Refractor. He’s shown in his minor league Red Sox uniform ready to field a grounder.

Another fun card is his 2022 Bowman Draft Chrome Refractor. There isn’t much logo, and it shows him in action swinging the big lumber.

The last card is his 2021 Leaf Flash Photography Green Autograph. It is serial numbered to just 25, and the photo shows him about to hit the ball. Put Blaze on your watchlist if you’re unsure about him.
