MLB Future Watch: Cole Young Baseball Cards, Seattle Mariners – The Seattle Mariners drafted Cole Young with the 21st overall pick in the 2022 MLB Draft. This talented shortstop attended North Allegheny High School in Wexford, PA.
The Pittsburgh Post Gazette voted him to the All-Area team as a freshman. As a junior, he hit .437 with 23 RBI and 33 runs scored with 14 extra-base hits. As a senior, Younghit .433. He was ready to take his chances in the MLB Draft.
In 2022, he played in Rookie-Ball and hit .333 with 1 double, 1 triple and five RBI. After that he moved on to A-Ball playing for the Modesto Nuts. Younghit .385 with 2 homers and 9 RBI and 11 runs scored in just 10 games.
In 2023, he started in A-Ball once again and finished up in A+ Ball with the Everett AquaSox. The shortstop’s combined numbers were 34 doubles, 9 triples, 11 home runs with 62 RBI with 22 stolen bases and 92 runs scored. A big year for him.
In 2024, Young spent the entire season in AA playing for the Arkansas Travelers. He hit 25 doubles, 2 triples, 9 home runs with 57 RBI and 23 stolen bases with 67 runs scored and a .369 on-base percentage.
Young reported to Marinersspring training and played in 13 games. He had 1 double, 1 RBI and 2 runs scored. Then he reported to AAA to play for the Tacoma Rainiers. In his first 14 games, he had 2 doubles, 1 triple, 1 RBI and 6 runs scored.
I like Young’sswing, and he already has good power. He can hit the ball late and it still has a chance to leave the ballpark. He’s currently 5’11” and 180-pounds and he will only get stronger. He might end up playing second base when he reaches the big leagues.
MLB Future Watch: Cole Young Baseball Cards Worth Chasing
One card to get is Young’s2023 Bowman Sterling Autograph. The card shows him in that teal blue right after taking a swing. This is an on-card signature.
Another card is his 2022 Bowman Draft 1st Chrome. The card is a refractor, and he is shown throwing the ball in the infield. It’s a nice card.
One last card is his 2024 Panini Impeccable Creations Canvas numbered to just 99. It’s a very abstract card that has a Leroy Neiman color scheme and I like that. Get this player into your collection.
