MLB Future Watch: Logan Cerny Baseball Cards, Houston AstrosMLB Future Watch: Logan Cerny Baseball Cards, Houston Astros – Logan Cerny was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 10th round of the 2021 MLB Amateur Draft. The Decatur, Georgia native decided to go to the college route and played at Troy University in Alabama.

2019 was his first season at Troy. During that campaign, he had 12 home runs, 4 triples, 9 home runs, and 42 RBI with 13 steals. That was a solid first season. 42 RBI in 55 games shows Cerny is a run producer.

Cerny only played in 9 games in the 2020 pandemic season. He had 2 home runs and 7 RBI in 40 at-bats. At least he got to play. It’s hard to develop like that, so it’s a lost season.

2021 was a better year for Cerny. He played in 51 games. He had career highs in 17 doubles, 4 triples, 15 home runs and 47 RBI with 12 steals. After the season was over, he headed to rookie ball and later A-ball in Clearwater, Florida, and played in 13 games. He got his feet wet for professional baseball.

In November of 2021, the Phillies traded Cerny to the Astros for a backup catcher, Garrett Stubbs. On the surface, this trade filled an immediate need with the big club, but they gave away an asset that the Astros wanted in the worst way. They had been tracking Cerny.

In 2022, Cerny reported to the Fayetteville Woodpeckers in Class-A ball. This outfielder was consistent hitting 16 doubles, 4 triples, 15 home runs, and 54 RBI in 86 games. His 36 steals were a revelation, and his .360 OBP was a bonus.

Cerny was the minor league player of the month for June 2022. His power is emerging, and his glove in center field has been impressive, stealing home runs to boot. The hope is he can hit 20 home runs in the big leagues while providing stellar defense. I think the Astros will see that in a few more seasons, but the art is going up on this player.

MLB Future Watch: Logan Cerny Baseball Cards Worth Chasing

The main card to get is Cerny’s 2022 Bowman 1st Prospect. It’s got that great design, and it shows him after he’s put a ball in play. I say that because he is a decent contact hitter.

Another card is his 2022 Bowman Chrome Sapphire Refractor. The color on this card pops.

One last card is his 2022 Bowman Chrome Lime Green Refractor. It’s a lemon-lime kind of color that looks good on a card.
