MLB Future Watch: Luca Tresh Baseball Cards, Kansas City RoyalsMLB Future Watch: Luca Tresh Baseball Cards, Kansas City RoyalsLuca Tresh was selected by the Kansas City Royals in the 17th round of the 2021 MLB Amateur Draft. The backstop has the tools. It’s a matter of him putting it all together.

As a freshman playing for North Carolina State in 2019, Tresh hit 6 home runs with 17 RBI and a .224 batting average. He started 13 games out of the 41 he played in.

Tresh broke out in 2020. He started in eight of 11 games during the pandemic. He hit 3 doubles, 3 home runs with 9 RBI, and a .405 batting average in his limited time.

In 2021, Tresh finally had a regular season. He hit 9 doubles, 1 triple, 15 home runs with 43 RBI with a .310 on-base percentage. As a fielder, Tresh threw out 10 baserunners in all 56 games. He started every game. Was named to the Buster Posey Award watchlist but didn’t win. He had a 15-game streak of reaching base and an eight-game hitting streak. What a year!

After the draft, Tresh played in Rookie Ball. In 6 games there, he had a home run, 3 RBI, and a .389 batting average. He moved on to A-Ball playing for the Columbia Fireflies. In 35 at-bats, he hit 1 double with 5 RBI.

Tresh started the 2022 season with the Quad Cities River Bandits in A+ Ball. In 300 at-bats, he slugged 15 doubles, and 14 home runs with 54 RBI and 3 steals. His OBP was .360! Then he was promoted to the Northwest Arkansas Bandits in AA. In his first 19 games, Tresh hit 3 doubles and 3 home runs with 9 RBI.

MLB Future Watch: Luca Tresh Baseball Cards, Kansas City RoyalsLuca is a cousin of former Yankee, Tom Tresh. The younger Tresh has excellent power especially high in the zone. His compact swing makes him dangerous. His power seemingly comes from his lower body. He is the Royals’ future behind the plate.

MLB Future Watch: Luks Tresh Baseball Cards Worth Chasing

One of the first cards to target is his 2022 Bowman 1st Chrome Prospect Autographed Purple Refractor. They are serial-numbered to 250. The color scheme matches, Tresh has a terrific autograph, and collectors appreciate that.

An easier grab is the 2022 Bowman 1st Prospect card. It has the same picture as the chrome card but it’s still very desirable.

One last option is the 2022 Bowman 1st Chrome Green Refractor. These are numbered 99. Same photo and autograph but there’s something about the green that catches the eye.
