NBA Future Watch: Bobi Klintman Basketball Cards, Detroit Pistons – Bobi Klintman will be counted upon as a foundational piece for the rebuilding Detroit Pistons. Of dual Senegalese and Swedish heritage, born in the latter country, Klintman made a name for himself as he moved through the top three tiers of basketball in his homeland.
Capping off his prep years at Sunrise Christian Academy in Kansas, Klintman established himself on the recruiting radar in a huge way, earning four-star status in 2021-22. Klintman led Sunrise to a 25-2 record – their best ever – and the National Interscholastic Basketball Conference championship. MaxPreps rated that squad the best in the state of Kansas since 2000.
Over the next summer, Klintman led Sweden in PPG (16.0), RPG (10.0), APG (5.1), SPG (2.6) and BPG (0.9) in the FIBA U20 European Championships. For collegiate play, Klintman decided on Wake Forest after earlier being inclined towards Maryland and Colorado.
Limited to 4.6 FGA, Klintman posted 5.3 PPG and also notched 4.5 RPG. Klintman became the first Demon Deacon to record multiple double-doubles since 2018. The one he attained in the NCAA Tournament was the first of any Wake Forest player since Tim Duncan over two decades earlier.
After contemplating the 2023 NBA Draft, Klintman instead headed Down Under to play for the Cairns Taipans in the NBL as part of the Next Stars program. On a team without a true point guard, Klintman still managed 9.7 PPG, 4.8 RPG, .793 FT% and .357 3%.
Drafted by the Pistons in 2024, Klintman brings tremendous length and scoring potential to the forward positions. An unselfish, hustling player, Klintman projects as a real fan favorite. He’ll be a great player to watch as Detroit retools around an exciting young core.
