NBA Future Watch: Carlton “Bub” Carrington Basketball Cards, Washington Wizards NBA Future Watch: Carlton “Bub” Carrington Basketball Cards, Washington Wizards – Carlton “Bub” Carrington has earned the respect of the greatest NBA player to hail from the Greater Washington, DC area where they both grew up, Kevin Durant. Of course, as Durant noted, Carrington carries the additional pressure of playing for the hometown. He is proving himself very well in that regard so far.

Born in Baltimore and inheriting his father’s nickname, Carrington had a varied high school experience. He played baseball and football alongside basketball and competed on the chess club. Carrington posted 26 PPG, 7 RPG, 6 APG and 2 SPG with splits of .490/.380/.860 in his senior season. Additionally, Carrington collected MVP honors at a variety of events: the DTLR Classic, the R1A Classic, the Jumpman Classic, the More Than Basketball Game and the St. James MLK Classic.

A four-star recruit, Carrington enrolled at Pittsburgh and became the first player in school history to debut with a triple-double: 18 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists. Only one other player in ACC history managed that feat and no other Panther had a triple-double since 1998. Impressing with his electric playmaking, screening, and artistry in isolation, Carrington rose very quickly up the 2024 NBA Draft boards. He eventually landed 14th with the Wizards.

Carrington is working on finishing at the rim more effectively as well as the consistency of his outside shot. Those two elements will mark him as one of the most interesting players as he achieves his potential.

Carrington has parallels and inserts available among his cards and stickers, which have been on the market since 2024. Panini Prizm and Hoops are the available brands. On eBay, the 2024-25 Panini Instant Studio RC Rookie Black Parallel is presently a valuable item.
