NBA Future Watch: Jared McCain Basketball Cards, Philadelphia 76ers –Jared McCain brings five-star recruiting pedigree to Philadelphia, along with a history of winning in high school and at Duke. As a skilled combo guard, McCain could log big minutes next to either Tyrese Maxey or Kelly Oubre. He projects as a player who will be able to score and defend at strong levels early in his career.
A star in California prep basketball by his junior season, McCain led his team to state titles in his last two years, also capturing Gatorade California Player of the Year honors both times. Additionally, McCain won the gold medal with the USA U-18 National team, played in the McDonald’s All-American Game, and won that event’s three-point contest.
McCain attained many notable feats at Duke, including tying Zion Williamson’s freshman scoring record with 35 points against Florida State. Subsequently, McCain became the second Blue Devil ever to score 30 or more points in two NCAA Tournament games. Overall stats of 14.3 PPG, 5.0 RPG, 1.1 SPG, .885 FT% and .414 3% positioned McCain for the 2024 NBA Draft, where he landed with the 76ers with the 16th overall pick.
McCain’s to-do list will include additional scoring at the rim and strengthening his playmaking. On one of the league’s winningest teams of the 2020s, one currently in a championship contention window, McCain’s ability to score from various points across the floor marks him as someone who could become a core player sooner rather than later. The excitement that McCain’s game generates should mark him as a huge fan favorite in Philadelphia.
McCain’s cards and stickers have been on the market since 2021, with many parallels and inserts available.
