NFL Future Watch: 2022 NFL Draft Skill Position Players to Collect, Part 2 – Running backs are making a comeback in the game, and some teams are valuing them more now than they did a few years ago. This installment of Future Watch will focus on who to collect from that running back talent.

Breece Hall was drafted by the New York Jets with the 36th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. The Jets traded up to get the best running back in the draft. Jets collectors may remember Freeman McNeil, the best homegrown running back they’ve drafted in the last 30 or so years. Hall could be their next guy. As far as usage, he will be the Jets’ #2 option out of the gate if he has a good camp. Opportunity will be there for him. The Jets offensive line is improved, so he’s got a chance to have a big rookie season in the biggest media market.

Kenneth Walker III was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks with the 41st overall in the 2022 NFL Draft. The 5’10”, 210-pound running back was a star at Wake Forest for two years. He gained 1,158 yards and 17 touchdowns while he was there and showed that he can catch a pass or two. Then he transferred to Michigan State where he blew up gaining 1,636 yards and 18 touchdowns. With the Seahawks, he will be used in a ground and pound offense. He has terrific speed especially when he hits the edge. Walker can sniff out the end zone as well, so Seattle will love this player.

James Cook was drafted by the Buffalo Bills with the 63rd overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. The Georgia standout can make the inside cut, but he can also go out for a long pass and take it to the house. He can make long runs and long receptions. Cook had an 82-yard touchdown grab in 2021 as well as a 67-yard run against the University of Alabama. Josh Allen will find Cook very useful. As he gets into the rotation, Cook will gain his yards and probably get some touchdowns. Based on the team he’s on, collectors shouldn’t hesitate to collect this speedster.

Rachaad White was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with the 91st overall in the 2022 NFL Draft. He now has a new team, a winner, and Tom Brady as his quarterback. White wasn’t a big star and he had to transfer to a smaller school to get noticed. It’s his hard work that got him to the NFL at the age of 23. At 6’1″, 214 pounds, he is hard to take down once he hits his stride. White is a no-brainer to collect based on the team he plays for.
