NFL Future Watch: Byron Murphy Football Cards, Seattle Seahawks – The Seattle Seahawks drafted Byron Murphy II with the 16th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. He’s a 6’0”, 308-pound defensive tackle who can put his stamp on a football game. He started doing that at DeSoto High School in DeSoto, Texas.
In his senior year in high school, he had 79 tackles and 14 sacks. He had a few schools interested in him and he decided to play at UT.
As a true freshman at Texas, he played in all 12 games but only started in one of them in 2021. He ended up with 15 tackles and two sacks. That was a good start since he was playing at a very successful college program.
In 2022, he had a nice sophomore year. He only got one start in 13 games, but he had 26 tackles and a sack. He was patiently waiting his turn.
In 2023, it was time for Murphy to be a starter. In 14 games, he had 13 solo tackles and 13 assists. He had five sacks that equaled a loss of 32 yards for the opposition. The interesting part of his season was on offense. He had a rushing touchdown and a receiving touchdown. He was named a second-team All-American by the Associated Press and many other outlets. Murphy was a Big 12 Defensive Lineman of Year. When his season ended, he was ready for the NFL Draft.
At the 2024 NFL Combine, he ran 4.87 in the 40-yard dash. Then he had a 33” vertical, 9’3” in the broad jump, and 28 reps on the weight bench. Scouts noticed this and now he was on a lot of teams’ draft boards.
In his rookie NFL season, in his first 14 games, Murphy has ten solo tackles and 22 assisted tackles. He has 0.5 sacks and 5.5 stuffs. Not bad and he’s only going to get better next year.

One card to get is Murphy’s 2024 Panini Luminance Rookie Autograph numbered to just 700. The autograph is clear, and it’s a solid card.
Another card to get is his Donruss Elite Rookie. The Orange version is numbered to just 399 and he’s pictured in training camp. It’s a well-designed card.
The last one could be his 2024 Donruss Press Proof Rated Rookie. This card has everything and that famous Rated Rookie logo. This player is a must-collect before he becomes an All-Pro in the future.
