NFL Future Watch: C.J. Stroud Football Cards, Draft Prospect – C.J. Stroud is a quarterback who is entering the 2023 NFL Draft with a lot of fanfare. He attended Rancho Cucamonga High School in California. That’s where his story starts, and it could end up being the #1 pick in the NFL Draft.
As a senior in high school, Stroud put up some big numbers. He passed for 3,878 yards and 47 touchdowns. The Inland Daily Bulletin voted him the Offensive Player of the Year. He was selected to play in the 2020 All-American Bowl. Stroud was the third-highest recruit in his class. Ohio University chose him, a smart move on their part.
In his freshman season at Ohio State, there was another quarterback who blocked his path. That was Justin Fields, so Stroud got one snap that season. He scored on a 48-yard rushing touchdown. Not bad for the only play of the season.
In 2021, Stroud was named the starter. He started every game that season. In 12 games, he had passed for 4,435 yards, which would be his career high, and 44 touchdowns against six interceptions. He threw for a 71.9% clip, and his quarterback rating was 186.6! He was named the Big 10 Quarterback of the Year, won Freshman of the Week six times, and was a Heisman Finalist. Stroud threw for 573 yards in the Rose Bowl, breaking a school record as well the Rose Bowl record. Stroud tossed six touchdowns in that game.
In 2022, he played 13 games. He threw for 3,340 yards and 37 touchdowns against six interceptions. His QB rating dropped to 176.2. I kid. He decided to forego his last two years in college to enter the 2023 NFL Draft.
At the 2023 NFL Combine, Stroud was threading crossing patterns. His easy throwing motion coupled with a strong lower body makes him very desirable. He can scramble as well, so why wouldn’t the Carolina Panthers select him? They traded a lot of picks to the Bears to get him. Oddly enough the Bears have Fields. I think the Panthers will take him, but you never know.

Another card is his 2023 Bowman University Chrome Football card. It’s a nice action shot of him throwing a pass.
